Listening is the vote
Every second of playback is counted. No algorithm decides who deserves what - just time. The artists who get played are the artists who get paid.
Her time decides the slice
Maya's fiver is split across the artists she played - nobody else's. Her month was 10 hours; one hour with you means 10% of her fiver is your slice. No shared pot, and no superstar's streams diluting it.
